On September 16, the provincial on-site observation and symposium on beef cattle slaughtering, processing, and industrial development was held in Wanshan. Jiao Renjiang, chief veterinarian of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and executive deputy leader of the special task force for cattle and sheep, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Liu Hao, deputy secretary of the district committee and district mayor, delivered a welcoming address. The meeting was chaired by Li Tao, director of the Veterinary Management Division of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Also in attendance were Liang Xianyi, director of the Provincial Grassland Technology Testing and Promotion Station and deputy leader of the special task force for cattle and sheep; Hu Hui, deputy director of the Animal and Plant Inspection Division of Guiyang Customs; Ma Zhongyuan, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Zhang Qin, deputy secretary of the district committee; and Yao Bin, deputy district mayor of the district government.

Jiao Rengang pointed out that we must deeply study and implement the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection tour of Guizhou Province, earnestly carry out the decisions and deployments of the provincial Party committee and provincial government on vigorously developing the beef cattle industry, fully learn from and draw on the experiences of advanced units, and strive to promote high-quality development in beef cattle slaughtering and processing. We must profoundly recognize the significance of developing the beef cattle processing industry, truly enhance our sense of responsibility and mission, continuously facilitate the integration of production and sales in slaughtering and processing, boost farmers’ incomes, support rural revitalization, and advance the modernization of agriculture. We must clearly understand both the challenges and opportunities, accurately grasp the new situation and new requirements facing the slaughtering and processing industry, and jointly drive the transformation and upgrading of our province’s slaughtering and processing sector toward standardization and intelligentization. We must focus on key tasks, clarify our development strategies, give priority support to the construction of beef cattle breeding bases, actively expand marketing channels, strengthen guarantees for various essential factors, and make every effort to promote high-quality development of the province’s beef cattle industry.
Liu Hao, on behalf of the District Party Committee and the District Government, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the leaders, guests, and entrepreneur friends attending the meeting. He pointed out that Wanshan is deeply studying and implementing the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Guizhou, seizing the opportunities presented by supportive policies at the provincial and municipal levels, fully leveraging local advantages, innovating and promoting a new model of live-poultry mortgage loans, vigorously advancing the construction of a fresh-frozen beef cattle industry base for Hong Kong supply, and continuously driving the transformation of beef cattle farming from traditional free-range practices toward large-scale, standardized operations. Moreover, the slaughtering of beef cattle is shifting from traditional methods to refined cutting and sophisticated processing, with a focus on building a modern beef cattle industrial cluster. We look forward to taking this conference as an opportunity to join forces and accelerate Guizhou’s transition from “selling live cattle” to “selling beef,” thereby boosting the high-quality development of the province’s beef cattle industry.
At the meeting, responsible officials from the Provincial Agricultural Guarantee Company, the Provincial Rural Credit Cooperative Union, PICC Property & Casualty Insurance Guizhou Branch, and Guizhou Wanjiachen Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. each delivered exchange speeches. Guizhou Tongren Wanshan Ruichang Fei Food Co., Ltd. signed cooperation agreements separately with Fenggang County Chaoyang Tea Industry Co., Ltd. of Guizhou Province, Guizhou Wanjiachen Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd., Guizhou Fanjing Mountain Pingshun Agriculture and Pastoral Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Songtao Jinsheng Agricultural Development Co., Ltd.
Before the meeting, participants visited the beef cattle breeding industrial base in Dashulin Village, Gaolouping Township, and Guizhou Tongren Wanshan Ruichang Fei Food Co., Ltd. for on-site observation.
Relevant officials from the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as representatives from provincial financial and insurance institutions, the Provincial Cattle and Sheep Industry Association, and private enterprises, attended the meeting.
